Purpose of The Role   

The Pre-Sales Consultant works within the managed services team and is the subject matter expert for HSO’s managed services.  The individual will use their understanding of business needs in a managed service environment to position and sell solutions and services in order to achieve revenue goals. The role demands and understanding of Microsoft technologies and extensive knowledge of working in a managed service environment. 

The Opportunity  

The opportunity on offer is somewhat special. You will be joining a relatively mature business but one with exciting ambitions and you will be part of the team that leads on a drive to grown the HSO managed service business through pre-sales efforts across all of our service lines. This role will have input on how we create better cost models, service offerings, efficiencies in the pre-sales process and be a driving force behind putting the customer at the centre of everything that we do

 

Reporting Line 

As part of the MS Service Delivery and Pre-Sales team, the Pre-Sales Consultant reports to the head of MS Service Delivery and Pre-Sales alongside the MS pre-sales team as well as the wider HSO Sales Executives and Account Managers. 

Job Function 

  • Perform detailed managed service discovery working with customer in order to set solution strategy and design for the outsourcing of services to HSO
  • Articulate the proposed MS solution and the benefits to the client at all levels including the use of any other HSO Geo’s or third parties where applicable 
  • Assist with account development, bids and campaign strategy for managed services
  • Gain client credibility as the subject matter expert for HSO managed services 
  • Engage at both a detailed level as well as at executive level to drive out business requirements and demand 
  • Work with the appropriate internal resources through all HSO service lines to ensure the optimum MS solution is proposed 
  • Build, maintain and develop client relationships 
  • Work with third parties as applicable 
  • Maintain an understanding and knowledge of the competition

Location

 The HSO offices are in Manchester and Reading but the individual can be based anywhere – and must be prepared to travel to client sites.   

 Additionally, for HSO training, to remain abreast of business and technical developments in HSO and to build a collegiate spirit, you will need to be able to get to a HSO office regularly and in order to enable the team to function cohesively.   

Qualifications

Experience and Skills  

  •  Either a demonstrable and successful track record in pre-sales or consultancy in a managed service environment 
  • Managed Service experience coupled with an engaging and undaunted personality is as much of interest to us as pure experience, and we will train. 
  • Solid and broad understanding of providing outsourcing services
  • Although not essential, knowledge of Service Management and ITIL would be an advantage 
  • Ability to identify and act on potential business opportunities 
  • Good understanding of the sales process 
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Experience of presenting at all levels 
  • Experience in building and owning cost models for large managed service deals
  • Experience in contract negations and creation of managed service contracts
