Kirsten Maas is 26 jaar oud, komt uit Rotterdam en is projectmanager bij het Customer Success team in de Cloud Services serviceline. Nadat Kirsten het Young Professional Programma binnen het Sales team had voltooid, was ze toe aan een verbreding van haar horizon. Kirsten vertelt hoe HSO haar ruimte gaf om te groeien naar haar nieuwe functie.

Tijdens de zoektocht naar mijn eerste baan leefde bij mij erg de vraag: wat heb ik eigenlijk als starter, zo vlak na mijn afstuderen, te bieden bij een organisatie vol specialisten? Ik begon halverwege 2019 bij HSO als Young Professional binnen het Sales team. Gelukkig heb ik mezelf de vraag, die mij toen zo bezighield, nooit meer opnieuw gesteld! Ik voelde namelijk al heel snel dat ik iets kon toevoegen, zelfs als beginnende Young Professional.

Na bijna vier jaar binnen het Sales team werd ik benieuwd of mijn toekomst zich in dat vakgebied zou afspelen, óf dat er andere werkzaamheden zouden zijn die mij meer energie konden geven.

Verder groeien door interne overstap

Tijdens een reeks open gesprekken met mijn manager hebben we een plan gemaakt om tot antwoorden op deze vragen te komen.  Onder het mom van ‘interne snuffelstages’ heb ik vervolgens hands-on ervaring kunnen opdoen bij Marketing en het Customer Success team. Tijdens deze periode werd ik door collega’s begeleid en gecoacht in hun vakgebied.

De ‘snuffelstages’ waren een succes! Ik ben onderdeel geworden van het Customer Success team en heb mijn Sales-pet definitief omgeruild om mijn ontwikkeling verder voort te zetten op het gebied van project- en verandermanagement.

Waarom HSO?

Voor mij zijn de collega’s één van de belangrijkste onderdelen die HSO aantrekkelijk maken. Ook al was ik in opleiding (vanuit het Young Professionals programma), ik werd vanaf dag één gezien als een volwaardige collega. Iedereen luistert en twijfelt geen moment aan jouw kennis, maar denkt mee vanuit eigen expertise en ervaring. Zo kom je samen tot het beste voorstel.

Ik hecht veel waarde aan de informele momenten met collega’s. De band die ik met (in)directe collega’s heb opgebouwd zorgt ervoor dat ik met veel plezier naar kantoor ga. Eén van de hoogtepunten was het zomerfeest dit jaar. Gezamenlijk proosten op het afgelopen half jaar en de zomer, dineren en daarna de dansvloer onveilig maken zijn voor mij onvergetelijke momenten.

Waar ben je het meeste trots op? 

Ik heb bewondering voor het verantwoordelijkheidsgevoel die elke HSO’er draagt richting de medemens, maar ook op een breder vlak. Dat er naar elkaar gekeken wordt en men elkaar helpt groeien in kennis of naar een nieuwe rol, maakt mij trots.

Er wordt vol enthousiasme en toewijding meegewerkt aan projecten voor maatschappelijke organisaties en elk individu draagt bij aan de cultuur van HSO, iets dat niet geforceerd kan worden.
