HSO is co-presenting, From Prompt to Production: Operationalizing AI for Texas Government, a 90-minute hands-on workshop with Microsoft at DIR AI Day 6, the Texas Department of Information Resources' sixth AI Day for state and local government technology leaders.
Many agencies are past the question of whether AI is useful. The harder question is which tool fits which problem, and what it takes to move something from a prompt to a system a CIO would actually approve. This hands-on session is built around that question, using the Microsoft tools your agency already licenses.
You build, not watch
This is a working session. Laptops and credentials are provided, and you leave with things you made yourself, not slides.
Texas agency context
The scenarios are drawn from real public sector work, not generic enterprise use cases.
A decision framework you can reuse
You leave knowing which layer of the Microsoft stack to reach for on your next AI request, and how to defend that choice internally.
Production, not pilots
The second half is about what separates a prototype that impresses a demo audience from an agent that survives governance review.
No new platform to buy
Everything we cover runs on Microsoft 365 and Copilot Studio, tools most Texas agencies are already paying for.
