“I wouldn’t say I’m a perfectionist, but I definitely don’t like sloppy work,” Jaap explains. “If the data isn’t trustworthy, it doesn’t matter if 90% is correct. It has to be right.”

Building solutions clients can rely on every day

Building Reliable Foundations: Meet Jaap van Dijke

At Vision 2026, HSO’s annual company gathering, Jaap van Dijke was recognized with HSO’s Client Satisfaction Award. The recognition reflected not only the quality of his technical work, but the trust he has built with clients and colleagues across the organization, and what success looks like for employees delivering impact at HSO in the United States.

As a Technical Solution Architect within HSO’s Data & AI practice, Jaap is known for helping clients solve one of the most critical challenges in modern business systems: making data move reliably between platforms. He designs scalable integration and data architectures across Azure, Microsoft Fabric, and Dynamics 365 environments, with a clear focus on consistency, reliability, and long-term value.

Colleagues and clients describe Jaap as someone who brings structure, accountability, and high standards to complex integration work, especially in environments where data reliability directly impacts business operations. HSO supports this type of delivery by combining deep Microsoft expertise with modern Azure and Fabric capabilities, enabling architects like Jaap to design solutions that are both scalable and repeatable.

What drives Jaap most is making sure systems work the way clients need them to, every time.

“I wouldn’t say I’m a perfectionist, but I definitely don’t like sloppy work,” Jaap explains. “If the data isn’t trustworthy, it doesn’t matter if 90% is correct. It has to be right.”

Finding a path into technology

Jaap’s path into technology was not a traditional one. Before entering IT, he studied clinical psychology and criminology, fields he enjoyed academically but ultimately realized were not the right long-term career fit.

What attracted him to software development and integration work was the constant pace of change and problem solving.

“I got inspired by software development because it always keeps changing,” Jaap says. “If you learn something now, five years from now it’s different again. I liked that challenge.”

After joining an IT traineeship more than a decade ago, Jaap found himself working in data and integration almost immediately. What started as an entry point into technology quickly became the foundation of his career. Over time, he has watched the landscape evolve from on‑premises integration environments into Azure cloud platforms, Microsoft Fabric, and AI‑enabled data ecosystems.

Solving real-world integration challenges

At its core, Jaap sees integration work as solving a simple but critical business problem: helping data move reliably between systems.

“It’s making sure data moves from system A to system B in a reliable way,” he explains.

The environments clients operate in, however, are rarely simple. Many organizations rely on multiple platforms spanning CRM, core banking systems, operational applications, analytics platforms, and third-party tools. Jaap’s work focuses on creating integration architectures that unify those systems while supporting the business processes behind them.

“We’re not building integrations for the sake of it,” he says. “It’s always powering a business need.”

Some organizations require batch integrations where overnight synchronization is sufficient. Others require near real-time integrations where data freshness directly impacts operations and customer experience. Jaap and his team design architectures that support both, abstracting technical complexity away from application teams while ensuring reliability underneath.

Delivering modern data platforms for financial services

One project Jaap is especially proud of involved HSO’s work with a large credit union operating in a complex financial services environment. Working alongside HSO’s CRM team, Jaap and the Data & AI team delivered both an Azure integration platform and a Microsoft Fabric data platform designed to modernize how the organization connects, manages, and reports on data across systems.

The solution enabled connectivity between CRM environments, core banking systems, and downstream reporting platforms, while introducing modern analytics capabilities through Fabric and Power BI.

“We delivered an Azure integration platform and Fabric as a data platform,” Jaap explains. “Those two platforms enable everything the organization needs in its CRM system while also giving them modern ways to build reports and introduce AI and Copilot capabilities.”

Because many credit unions operate on similar core banking systems, the integration patterns developed through this work are now reusable across future financial services implementations, helping accelerate delivery while maintaining quality.

Raising the standard

For Jaap, the work has never really been about integrations alone. It is about responsibility. Clients rely on these systems every day, and when data is wrong, delayed, or unreliable, people notice immediately. That is what made his recognition at Vision 2026 so meaningful. It reflected something larger than technical delivery. It represented the trust clients and colleagues place in Jaap when projects become complex, high‑visibility, or business critical.

“If it doesn’t work 10% of the time, that’s bad,” Jaap explains. “It impacts support tickets, it impacts how customers perceive the systems, and it impacts trust in the data.”

That mindset is part of what earned Jaap HSO’s Client Satisfaction Award. He has become known for holding himself and his work to a high standard, especially in integration environments where reliability directly shapes how clients experience their systems every day. Clients trust him not just because he understands the technology, but because they know he genuinely cares about getting it right.

As his role has evolved, so has his definition of success. Earlier in his career, success meant personally building and solving the technical challenge. Today, it also means shaping delivery standards that scale and ensuring quality remains consistent as solutions grow across clients and industries.

That balance between high standards and trust has become one of the most rewarding parts of his growth at HSO, and a defining part of how he delivers lasting impact for clients. As Jaap puts it, “Clients rely on these systems every day, so getting it right isn’t optional. That responsibility is what drives every decision I make.”
