Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior / Lead Technical Consultant – Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (X++) to join our Managed Services team. The role involves 70% hands-on development and 30% production support, focusing on delivering high-quality customizations, enhancements, integrations, and ongoing support for enterprise D365 FO environments.
The ideal candidate will have strong X++ development expertise, deep understanding of D365 FO architecture, and proven experience working in support-driven, SLA-based environments.
 

Key Responsibilities

Development (70%)

  • Design, develop, and maintain custom solutions in D365 Finance & Operations using X++.
  • Develop and customize Forms, Tables, Classes, Reports (SSRS), and Workflows.
  • Implement extensions-based customizations following Microsoft best practices.
  • Develop and maintain integrations using OData, REST APIs, Data Entities, and Azure services.
  • Perform code reviews, enforce coding standards, and mentor junior developers.
  • Collaborate with functional consultants to translate business requirements into technical designs.
  • Handle performance tuning, debugging, and optimization of D365 FO solutions.
  • Participate in deployments, upgrades, and hotfixes across environments.

Support / Managed Services (30%)

  • Provide L2/L3 application support for D365 FO in production environments.
  • Analyze and resolve incidents, service requests, and defects within defined SLAs.
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement permanent fixes.
  • Support monthly releases, patches, and platform updates.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for system improvements and automation.
  • Coordinate with Microsoft support and internal stakeholders when required.
  • Maintain proper documentation for fixes, enhancements, and known issues.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Skills

  • 6–10 years of hands-on experience in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations / AX.
  • Strong expertise in X++ development.
  • Solid experience with D365 FO extensions framework.
  • Experience developing SSRS reports and Data Entities.
  • Strong understanding of D365 FO security framework.
  • Experience with integrations using OData, REST, Azure Logic Apps, Azure Functions, or similar.
  • Knowledge of DevOps (Azure DevOps) for code management and CI/CD.
  • Experience with performance optimization and debugging in D365 FO.
  • Exposure to LCS (Lifecycle Services) and environment management.

Functional & Support Skills

  • Understanding of key D365 FO modules (Finance, SCM, or related areas).
  • Experience working in Managed Services / AMS / Support projects.
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change Management).
  • Ability to work in SLA-driven environments.

 

Leadership & Soft Skills

  • Ability to work independently in a remote setup.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience mentoring junior developers and guiding technical teams.
  • Proactive, customer-focused, and quality-driven mindset.

 

Good to Have

  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 FO technical certifications.
  • Experience with multi-geo or global implementations.
  • Knowledge of Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps).
  • Exposure to upgrade projects from AX to D365 FO.
