Ann-Sophie Schmid
HR Business Partner

"At the interview, I had the feeling that there was a respectful, friendly and professional atmosphere at HSO. I felt a lot of freedom to shape my job as I see fit."

How long have you been working at HSO?

I have been working as an HR Business Partner since January 2022. Initially, I was responsible for end-to-end recruiting for the CRM service line, Sales & Marketing and the ITC team. I was also responsible for active sourcing, managing application processes and drawing up employment contracts.

For about six months now, the focus of my work has shifted to the areas of health management, event organization and administrative HR activities. This includes, for example, fleet management, preparatory payroll accounting activities and also topics such as company pension schemes or advising our employees on employment, social and tax law. I also support our managers in personnel matters and evaluations. Maintaining employee absences is also part of my area of responsibility.

Why did you choose HSO as your employer?

Because I had the feeling at the interview that there was a respectful, friendly and professional atmosphere here. I was given the freedom to do my job as I see fit.

How big is the team you work in?

Our HR department currently consists of eight colleagues.

What does a normal working day or week look like for you?

My topics are very varied. My area of responsibility, especially in the admin area, thrives on unpredictable things that happen. That makes my job very varied and exciting.

What do you like most in your work?

Colleagues come to me with all kinds of questions and are happy if I can help them. Thanks to my wide range of tasks, I can usually provide good support and then both sides are happy. They trust me and know that I'm listening.

What is the biggest challenge in your role?

In my role as HR Business Partner, I sometimes have to deliver bad news.

Which values are important to you and why?

Cooperation, further development, entrepreneurial spirit. But also value orientation, respect, friendliness and growth.

Have there been any special moments for you during your time at HSO so far? If so, which ones?

When I won the Leadership Award from the management for my hard work in December 2022 after less than a year with the company.

How or from where do you work?

Mainly remotely. The great flexibility we offer allows me to balance my private and professional life.

"If you want to be part of an open team that delivers great technology, but also likes to have fun together, then this is the place for you. Team spirit and compassion are very important at HSO."

Ann-Sophie Schmidt

What would you tell someone who is interested in working for us?

If the person wants to be part of an open team that implements great technology, but also enjoys having fun as a team, this is the right place for them. Team spirit and compassion are very important here. Sometimes, when we're out and about together, it feels like a big school trip - in a positive sense.

How do you envision your future career at HSO?

I have settled into my new topics well. Now I'm looking forward to delving deeper into some areas and learning new things.
