Description 

At HSO, we’re looking for a proactive, detail-oriented Data Engineer to join us on a contract basis. This is a full-time engagement, starting with an initial 3-month contract, with a strong possibility of extension based on performance and project needs.

Key Responsibilities   

  • Develop, implement and support scalable data platforms. 
  • Work with structured and unstructured data from various sources. 
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across all data platforms. 
  • Monitor and maintain data pipelines and infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance. 
  • Investigate and resolve data-related issues, including failed jobs, data inconsistencies, and performance bottlenecks. 
  • Analyze, design, and implement change requests related to data pipelines, ETL processes, and data models. 
  • Ensure all changes are documented, tested, and deployed following established change control procedures. 
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve system reliability. 
  • Contribute to the development of best practices and technical documentation. 

 

Requirements 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 
  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering. 
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and data modelling principles. 
  • Experience with Azure cloud platform and data integration tools. 
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. 
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative, international environment.
