Remain CASL compliant with Dynamics 365
In the days since Canada passed the Canadian Anti-Spam Legislation, or CASL, it has been more difficult to build a good email marketing list that remained CASL compliant.
More difficult, but not impossible.
Staying CASL compliant doesn’t have to be a stressful chore. In fact, with a good CRM tool much of the work to stay CASL compliant is automated. In Microsoft Dynamics 365, the information generates into this form.
As you can see, the form indicates both consent and the date in which it was obtained. It is vital that companies have this information on file as the consequences for violating CASL are significant. They can include fines ranging from $1m to $10m per violation. It's important to note that individuals and companies, including directors, officers and other agents, are responsible and liable for the messages they send.
In the days since Canada passed the Canadian Anti-Spam Legislation, or CASL, it has been more difficult to build a good email marketing list that remained CASL compliant.
Since July 1, 2017 CASL has required companies to obtain express consent before contacting people. Express consent means that a person has clearly agreed- orally or in writing- to receive a commercial electronic message. It is not time-limited, unless the recipient withdraws their consent.
The onus is on the sender to prove expressed consent. That again underlines the value of keeping good records and the value of Dynamics 365 in helping you do just that.
Dynamics 365 can help you do a lot more than simply keeping you CASL compliant. You can build powerful marketing lists, more efficiently convert leads to opportunities, and much more. CRM Dynamics has more than 20 years of experience in implementing CRM projects and has a variety of both customized and out-of-the-box options that can fit the budget of almost any company.
