The increasing need for Global Services: Helping multinational organizations digitally transform and thrive in a global economy

When it comes to doing business, the world is shrinking fast. Especially after 2020 and 2021, companies that might have in the past only operated in one country or even one region, province, state, or territory are finding themselves doing business or managing operations at a global level. With that comes the need to digitally transform to support a global business … as well as finding reliable, expert support for that transformational technology.

As one of the largest global partners dedicated to providing solutions for businesses by leveraging Microsoft technology, HSO has been offering global services for many years. Recently, we’ve seen that the demand for those services has increased dramatically and that the types of services being requested have changed, which is why we he have further expanded or offices and services extending them throughout the world.

An industry veteran with passion

We are pleased to welcome Prabhat Nagaraj to the team as Managing Director, HSO India and Philippines, to expand HSO’s Global Service Centers in those geographies, including adding four new offices where Microsoft also has a strong presence.

While he has extensive experience in building global teams and is a seasoned veteran who has worked with Microsoft technologies for 17 years, Prabhat has additional experience and qualities that make him the ideal choice to take on aggressive growth and transformation goals.

From early on, Prabhat was recognized for his ability to get things done, especially on a large scale. He has run the industry practices for global software companies, focusing on bringing large projects to completion and headed up Microsoft Dynamics teams for global partners, which included opening offices in India, Europe, and the Philippines.

During that time, Prabhat was able to see up close how North America and Europe utilize and interact with India and the Philippines, then take that knowledge and determine how best to bring global services into projects to deliver the best possible client experience. This, he found, requires changes in how projects are implemented and priced, as well as the communication platform and how consultants work with one another across time zones.

“At the end of the day, that’s the most important aspect,” he says. “I really enjoyed my time solving that challenge.” Clearly, his passion for what he does shone through, as repeatedly throughout his career, he has been tapped by those he has worked closely with to tackle even bigger challenges, like pulling multiple companies together and running global delivery teams.

And that’s what makes Prabhat the perfect fit for heading up this rapidly expanding area for HSO: passion. First, he is passionate about Microsoft Dynamics products. “I love how clients are excited using the product, and that’s something I find most satisfying. Clients get the vision when they see the product during the sales phase, but once they’re actually using it, they’re satisfied because they’re achieving what they wanted to achieve.”

Then there is his passion for the professionals in India and the Philippines.

“The IT workforce there is highly skilled, multilingual, and capable of carrying out 24/7 work, as well as having a wealth of experience and technical know-how, especially around Microsoft technology.” And he wants to provide more opportunities to them “to learn and grow through challenging projects, diverse clientele, and a collaborative environment.” Another passion we’re particularly happy about: the future of HSO.

“HSO is already a large partner, but the growth potential in so many areas—some already under way, some as yet untapped—is unlike any other Microsoft partner out there. So, I can easily see HSO being the largest global Dynamics partner, and having India and the Philippines as the backbone for global services will unlock a lot of that potential. That’s why I’m excited about what I can bring to the table.”

Prabhat is excited about his future with us, too: “I want to be at HSO for the next 20 years. I want to build a great company. I saw HSO UK come up as one of the top 100 best places to work, and I want to achieve that in India and the Philippines—one of the places where people can come out of college and start growing right away…and see the boundless potential with HSO. Whether they want to stay in India or Philippines or travel the world, all of it is possible in a company like HSO. It’s a family, not a transactional company where there is not enough invested in the relationship with the employee. Those who started and are steering the company have all been with HSO for 20-30 years; that’s the longevity that is so important to me and that really impressed me the most.”

Why India and Philippines?

Why is HSO choosing to expand in these two countries? “India has a population of more than a billion people, more than 50 percent of which are under the age of 30,” says Prabhat. “Most of them also have a strong technical education, and they speak English well. In addition, Microsoft has one of its largest operations in India. So, for a company like HSO, India is the right place to be.” As for the Philippines, Manila is a 24/7 city with another large population of technical talent with good English skills. Although the population is not as large as India, the people there are extremely efficient. “There are some very good partners and excellent Microsoft talent to be found in the Philippines, and we need to leverage that talent for our customers.”

Big opportunities for the right candidates

HSO India and Philippines are part of the HSO Global Services Group (which also includes North Macedonia), which serves the entire global HSO organization. Prabhat has been getting operations in order over the summer, with an office in Hyderabad and opening an additional office in Bangalore. The goal is to triple the staff by the end of 2021 and will open two more offices in India (Noida and Pune) after that. In the Philippines, an office will be opening in Manila. By the end of 2022, the goal is to grow the staff in the five locations to 500 and double that number by the end of 2023.

Prabhat is looking to fill all types of positions. “If we look at what we’re trying to do with HSO India and Philippines and how this business unit will impact HSO’s overall growth, we need people with skills and experience in accounting and technical development, consulting and delivery, and writing and presenting. We need developers, architects, project managers, support staff…we are looking for very good people across all phases of the life cycle. We want people who will help us innovate, with the goal of delighting our customers by helping them achieve their vision.”

He continues: “HSO is a high growth company. Being a part of HSO really means putting your career on a fast track. It also means you’re part of a global company where you will have ample travel opportunities. You will have clients in Europe, you will have clients in North America, you’ll have clients in Asia Pacific and Australia and New Zealand. If you’re interested in seeing the world, HSO is the place for you to be. If you’re interested in creating new products and being the technology, you can be a part of that journey, and you can even be a leader because HSO is growing. HSO provides the opportunities of getting on the ground floor of a startup, like moving into new positions and constantly having opportunities to grow and learn, but with the stability of a large, established, global company. It’s all the rewards without the risks.”
