Growing market forces and evolving customer expectations is increasing the demands being placed on businesses to deliver products and services better, faster, cheaper. To meet the challenges, a scalable, flexible solution is required.
To help businesses effectively utilise resources, manage operations and streamline processes for a more efficient way of working, Microsoft regularly update Microsoft Dynamics AX; ensuring the ERP solution keeps pace with customer requirements.
Unveiled at Dynamics Convergence 2014 in Barcelona, the latest Microsoft Dynamics AX update has introduced greater module functionality to empower retail, warehouse and transportation industry users. Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3 Cumulative Update 8 (CU8), features more in-depth point of sale features such as surveys, payments and signature collection.
Additionally, with the streamlined warehousing and transportation operations developed by Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3 CU8, retailers are set to experience heightened efficiency and connectivity as part of an end to end multi-channel retail process.
ERP in the hybrid cloud
Following on from the announcement that its flagship CRM solution will deliver greater levels of cloud functionality, Microsoft is further integrating Dynamics AX into the cloud.
Powered on the Azure platform, the Microsoft’s ERP solution will be fully accessible across mobile and tablet devices, and manageable on premise as part of a hybrid environment. By hosting Microsoft Dynamics AX in the cloud, businesses can create a test and development facility within Azure to assess new processes and workflows before deployment into wider operations.
By taking Microsoft Dynamics AX deeper into the cloud and with its integration with office 365, ERP is very much at the forefront of Microsoft’s vision for a ‘cloud first’ business environment.
