Key takeaways from Microsoft Inspire 2019

Over 17,00 partners from around the world attended the conference to gain insight into the latest developments and top focus areas for Microsoft for the year ahead, gain knowledge of the programs and promotions coming into play as well as for some excellent networking with the Microsoft leadership teams and other partners in the ecosystem.

At the event, HSO was proud to be recognised as a Finalist for the Microsoft Partner of the Year Awards gaining recognition for its work in Retail, Field Service and Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations. A fantastic achievement and great recognition of the commitment and efforts of our dedicated employees and successful collaboration with our customers!

HSO was also recognised again as part of the prestigious Microsoft Dynamics Inner Circle for 2019/2020, our 13th consecutive year having been a member since 2007. The Inner Circle is a group of the most strategic and successful Microsoft Dynamics partners worldwide representing the top 1% of the total Business Applications ecosystem that drives more than 30% of the Worldwide Cloud Revenue with Microsoft Dynamics 365.

Inner Circle members are chosen based on their business performance as well as their capabilities as an organisation, in developing solutions, or having an industry leading focus on digital transformation. As part of this elite group of companies, HSO is recognised for its achievements this past year, its dedication to its customers, and innovation around the Microsoft Cloud.

One of the highlights of the event was the keynote, “corenote” in Microsoft speak, presentation of Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, who took the opportunity to highlight some of the latest innovations across the Microsoft Azure Cloud solution set, including some very impressive SQL database scaling with Hyper Scale, foreign language holographic presentations and real-world Minecraft gameplay.

He also highlighted how Microsoft are building out Dynamics 365 and Power Platform “to be the worlds connected business cloud”, utilising Azure AI services to deliver new out-of-the-box applications in Dynamics 365 with Customer, Customer Service and Sales Insights; allowing actionable insights and predictive guidance based on data gleaned from across your Dynamics applications; through to mixed reality applications like Product Visualisation, Remote Assist, Layouts and Guides to provide real-time contextual collaboration, learning and training, utilising hands-free guidance and product build conceptualisation and showcasing, applications that are bridging the physical and virtual worlds.  

He also examined how Power Platform, including Power BI, Power Apps and Flow, utilising the Common Data Model and Azure services, is providing the ability to extend and add applications across the business domain.

Finally, he discussed how Microsoft 365 including Office 365, Security and Teams can drive employee productivity, collaboration and innovation.

Many more updates were discussed and there will be further information from HSO as these are activated and finalised, but all in all, it was great to see the high levels of enthusiasm, innovation and commitment from Microsoft, now the world’s biggest listed company.
