Two Easy Ways to Delight Your Equipment Rental Customers
Learn how to improve availability planning and order entry to help create a delightful equipment rental experience.
Did you know that it costs, on average, five times more to attract new customers than it does to retain them? In any service-driven industry, your business is only as valuable as the customer perceives it to be. Putting the customer first not only results in repeat business, but increases awareness and referrals through word-of-mouth marketing.
In the rental business, one of the easiest areas to improve customer satisfaction is by providing the customer the information they need, when they need it, at the right time in the right place. It is also equally important to make the “renting” process for a customer as quick and as easy as possible. With this in mind, it is important to share information about your fleet availability when a customer requests rental equipment. Rental companies also need to assure customers that their order entry process is quick and reliable.
Having the right technology tools in place to achieve these two customer value drivers is key. This post explores how you can use the enhanced capabilities of Dynamics Software Rental Management to visualise availability and “quick order entry” functionality to help create a delightful customer experience.
1) Availability planning
With the Graphical Planning functionality within Dynamics Software Rental Management, any user can easily create an availability overview. In the Graphical plan board, it is possible to filter easily on rental equipment attributes like make, category, on and off-rent date/time, warehouse, options, accessories, etc. After applying the filters, the Graphical plan board will show the equipment that meet the applied filter and will display if the equipment is available or not.
When a customer requests to rent equipment, you can easily apply the filter and inform your customer if there is availability. The Graphical plan board can also display the availability for multiple warehouses, which helps in assuring that the customer will be able to rent the required equipment.
- Check availability for a line/all lines – The system displays line by line if equipment is available or not with a tick checkbox (available) or a red cross (not available).
- Availability planning – The graphical availability planning will open on the items which are entered on the rental/quotation line. The user then has the option to add specific equipment to the rental order/quotation.
The End Goal: Satisfied Customers
Creating a delightful customer experience starts with having the right tools in place for your service team. By arming your team with real-time rental availability and a fast and easy order entry interface, you can provide your customers the information they need, when they need it most.
